At Trinity College of Music John was tutored by Alexander Ardakov, a renown Russian piano virtuoso, from whom he gained invaluable knowledge and insight into performance techniques and interpretations of the Classical repertoire. He studied many major works by Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, Rachmaninov, Schumann, Schubert and Liszt while developing a core understanding of the composers.
